Wimshurst Upgrading
I don't remember how long ago, but at least 20 years ago, I bought a Wimshurst Electrostatic Generator from Edmund Scientific for $99+s/h, and it has long been one of my most prized possessions, but I have always wanted to upgrade it to a larger device. If first became fascinated by it after reading articles on the early 2000-era internet about a device called the Testatika and wanting to experiment to build one of my own. This page is some of my notes about ways to go about it. I want to buy another standard version from a science store, and then experiment making upgrades to it, such as with larger discs and larger leyden jars/ capacitors.
