The Kenites

Who are the Kenites? They are a race of people who exist throughout the entire word of God. Surprisingly, most people don't even know they exist or who they are. However, identifying them for who they are and knowing their role is pivotal to understanding God's word. The word Kenite, if fully translated instead of transliterated, means sons of Cain. As with a lot of subjects in the bible, people are taught man's word and not God's. This leaves them unaware of so many truths so simply put forth by our Father. We find there is plenty written concerning the Kenites throughout the Word to document these sons of Cain, if we let God do the teaching and not man.

Let's start where the misconception begins, to properly clarify where the Kenites originated from, in the beginning. The scriptures noted will not be included, so that you can see it from the word of God and not from me. The Strongs concordance numbers will be placed in parenthesis when needed to help clarify a word or its meaning. For less confusion, I would suggest using a King James Version of the bible, that being the text I used in putting this together.

Before we go to the Garden of Eden, we must first know who all was present when the events there took place. It's obvious that Adam and Eve were there, but who else? We can place Christ in the garden for He is the Tree of Life (Rev.22). However, if the Tree of Life is a particular entity, then it only makes sense that the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil is also, as well as the serpent. We find in Rev.12:9 that the Serpent is one of Satan's roles that he plays throughout history (That old serpent), and that it was not a talking a snake. Also in Ezekiel 28:12-17 we see the king of Tyrus as a type, and is actually Satan himself. For it states that he was a cherub that was created and not born. It also clearly depicts Satan fall, and that he was in the Garden of Eden.

Gen 3:1-2 -- Here we see the serpent tempting Eve by twisting the World of God, just as he does (as the devil) with Christ in the wilderness.

Gen 3:3 -- In this verse we hae the word touch (5060). This word means to touch as in lie with a woman.

Gen. 3:4-7 -- We can safely accept from these verses that this took place in a fig grove and not an apple orchard

Gen 3:8-13 -- Besides the fact that eating a piece of fruit is unlikely to make someone realize they are naked, I would like to you make note of the word beguiled (5377), which means wholly seduced. I'd like to make a reference here to 2 Cor.11:2-3. Note that it states, as a virgin not as Eve who was beguiled by the serpent. Let's go back to Genesis.

Gen 3:14 -- This statement is merely a state of degradation.

Gen 3:15 -- Here we have two seeds (2232, 2233): child, bear, conceive seed. We also know that Christ's heel was bruised on the cross, but He will ultimately destroy Satan.

Gen 3:16 -- The punishment is in relation to child bearing and not the eating of food.

Skip down now to Genesis chapter 4.

Gen 4:1 -- It's stated here than Adam and Eve conceived of a child with the help of God. ('ish 'eth Jehovah). It would appear that it was Cain, but pay close attention to verse 2.

Gen 4:2 -- The word again (3254), means to continue. Stating that she gave birth to them one right after the other, twins. However, they were not identified as twins, but paternal twins from two different conceptions.

Gen 4:3-4 -- Cain and Abel reached the age for sacrifice at the same time, backing up the fact that they were twins.

Gen 4:5-8 -- Cain's actions (behavior) sets him apart from all others, the extreme of which is being the first murderer in the bible. I find it interesting that the first murder was in connection with religion.

Gen 4:10-16 -- In these verses we see the first mark being placed on someone. This mark proves to be more of a covering for Cain and his offspring than an identifier. As they too have a role in God's plan.

Gen 4:17-24 -- Stated here is the geneology of Cain, seperate from Adam's.

Gen. 5:1-32 -- Now we come to Adam's geneology. Note that Cain is not found, nor will be, in Adam's geneology. Set is listed first due to the death of Abel. Please do not overlook how similar some of the names are in these two geneologies. This should help you understand how deceptive our adversary can be.

The question would be, did these people survive Noah's flood? Turn over to 1 Chronicles Ch.2.

1 Chronicles 2:55 -- Here we have the actual word Kenites (7014, 7017). Be careful not to miss that they are not a part of Judah (1Chr.2:3-54), but they have become scribes. (Jer.35:__)

Now let's go to the New Testament to see if we can find anything on the Kenites there. Turn to Matthew 13 and let us see what Jesus may have taught on this matter. We'll begin with the parable of the tares; one of the best explained parables in the bible.

Matt.13:24-30 -- This truth, like others, are brough forth in parable form when spoken before the multitude, for it is not meant for all to understand. (Matt.13:34-35, Luke 8:10)

Skip down to verse 36.

Matt.13:36-43 -- Here Christ explains the parable to his disciples (disciplined ones) away from the multitude. Notice even His disciples didn't quite get it. Also notice in the reference earlier (Matthew 13:35), that this is part of the mystery of God ("kept secret from the foundation of the world"). I think this is made pretty clear, however, in verses 38 and 39 -- with the tares being the children of the wicked one; and them being sowed by the devil. It is important not to overlook that we are instructed to let them be, and that they will be present until the end of this world age.

Turn now to Matthew 23 and hear what else our Saviour may have said concerning these ones.

Matt.23:1-2 -- Christ is explaining the position of the scribes (remember 1.Chr) and the Pharisees. Moses' seat was that of the law giver.

Skip down to verse 29.

Matt.23:29 -- Here the word hypocrit in the Greek means play actor; they're pretending to be something they are not.

Matt.23:30-32 -- These statements are made showing us the type of people they and their fathers are (basically by their own admittance).

Matt.23:33 -- The word generation is offspring, and what is a viper, but a serpent too. They also could escape damnation if they would accept Him for Christ who died for all.

Matt.23:34 -- Christ, knwoing who they are, can openly predict their actions; and as we know from the scriptures they did so even to Christ Himself (doing their part in God's plan).

Matt.23:35 -- Here we have Christ tracing them back all the way to the garden, where as we all know Cain murdered his brother Abel.

To further the documentation on the subject we hae a couple more places to go before we can let it rest. Turn now to John 8:31.

John 8:31 -- Here we have Jesus talking to the Jews, but here He distinguishes them from the true believers of verse 30.

John 8:33 -- In this verse we see that tese are the Jews from verse 31 denying the historical facts concerning the bondage of the true tribe of Judah had see, shwoing themselves to be Jews merely by the location of their residency and not by bloodline. (This also clears up that Judah didn't crucify Christ but these imposters.)

John 8:34-35 -- This statement made here by Christ, reminds me of the statement made to Cain in Genesis 4:7

John 8:37 -- Technically we are all Abraham's children spiritually, for he is the father of many nations. But they are all still apart in this verse.

John 8:38 -- There is a clear disctinction between the two fathers here, God the father and their father (upper and lower-case f's).

John 8:39-43 -- The same distinction made in v.38 reestablished for emphasis and clarity.

John 8:44 -- It doesn't get any clearer than this, friends. Here it's stated their father the devil and clearly makes the connections to Cain, the first murderer.

Turn now to 1John 3 for a seocnd, where we can make the connection between Cain and his father.

1 John 3:10-11 -- Who is that wicked one? I hope I don't have to answer that.

Since we're in the neighborhood let's go to the book of Revelation (the revealing) to close this study out. Here we have 7 churches only two of the seven did Christ approve of (doctrine). Let's see what set the two apart from the rest. Remember these 7 churches are put before us as types to help us see God's perspective on things. Chances are your church falls under one of these seven categories, do you know where it stands in God's eyes? Flip over a couple of pages to Revelation 2 and let's see if the two have something in common.

Rev.2:8-11 -- The church of Smyrna is a church not wealthy to the world, but is still rich (in the things of God). But most importantly they have knowledge of those who claim to be Jews but are not, but are of the synagogue of Satan. More plainly put, the Kenites. Now go to Revelation 3.

Rev.3:7-13 -- Notice that this church (Philadelphia) has an understanding of the Kenites (synagogue of Satan) as well as Smyrna. They shall be at our feet for we shall be at Christ's feet when He returns and even the Kenites will bow their knee at Messiah's return. Make a note of the Key of David mentioned in relation with this church and their knowledge of the Kenites.

We see that both of these churches have knowledge of who these Kenites are. Being the only two approved of, in this aspect, by Christ makes this a very important and fundamental subject in understanding the Word of God as well as His plan. At this point I'll let this draw to a close and pray that the information set before you was adequate enough in presenting this truth, which is by no means exhausted here.
